Shooting Time with "Ungewöhnlicht"

Photo: Ungewöhlicht
Hair / Make Up / Styling: Beauty and the Pig
Headpiece: Carolin von Montgomery

Hello my Sweets!

Here is another "photshoot" special for ye: featuring the amazing photographer Laura from Ungewöhnlicht & a fantastic headpiece by Carolin von Montgomery.

It was pure coincidence that I got to shoot this awesome headpiece series for Carolin with her! They had all their models sorted but I was so intrigued that I wrote her a message anyway, telling her how much I would love to support this series. Luckily for me, one of the models seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth and so I filled in for her the next day. Laura and I had an amazing day and became really good friends instantly. She is one of those people you just love from the beginning: we share a lot of interests and found ourselves chatting our ears off that day :D

And how fate seems to give us a little nudge from time to time, I got to work with her again just a few days later, when a make up artist she had organized vanished too :D I got to do make up on an absolutely gorgeous model (photos will be up this month) and got to know some really amazing peeps! I am forever grateful for this opportunity and all the wonderful people I have met through this "casual" conversation on facebook!

Also, I am forever in love with these absolutely beautiful headpieces Caro designes & makes! She is not only an amazing designer but a great model too! I adore her photos and love how versatile she can be! She is a true stunner! Please go and like both of these girlies up on facebook!

Hey Ho Leute!

"Why the Pig?!"

So Guys,

the question "what is with the pig?!" has risen quite a lot over the last while, so I'm gonna get right down to it and introduce you to my lovely companion: Piggy 'Macbeth'!

My whole obsession with pigs started in 2011 when I was studying Art and Design (Printmaking) in Galway, Ireland. I was working on my degree show project and a lot of my research involved feminism and female sexuality. I researched these topics a lot and kept finding articles from feminists saying things like "women are being exploited by social media and are objectifying themselves" ... And yes, I can understand! The porn industry is making it hard for women to establish themselves and so on... But shouldn't women still be able to live out their sexuality wihtout fear of a feminist running after them telling them to put clothes on? Are women NOT allowed to be "pigs" and enjoy themselves to the fullest?!

My idea was that most women enjoy sex, life and just want to have fun. They should not be afraid to be themselves. With everything, one can take it overboard and ruin a reputation within a split second, but that is not every woman. Confidence is sexy --> and if you are confident with yourself, your body and your attitude, and act responsibly, then by all means GO FOR IT! Life is fun, for God's sake!

So as the project went on, I found the idea of  the pig really intriguing. Not only was it meant to be a jokey subject that tackled feminists, but it was meant to give women the courage to act as they see fit for themselves. So, about half way into the project I strolled into a butchers and came out with a vacuum packed pig's head. I named him Hamlet and he lived in my small fridge for about a week. I used him to take a series of photographs, which I later used in my art pints. And that is when the love was born...

Obviously, I couldn't keep Hamlet forever (he did turn quite smelly after about 6 days) so a little while later I found Macbeth; a rubber piggy that has stayed with me since. When I started doing make up, I was fed up of all the "oh so beautiful" boring make up posts and wanted to give my blog a little twist. So here he is, haha! I guess it's needless to say I'm quite a pig fanatic at this stage... I WILL own a micro pig at some stage in my life, and my collection of piggy artefacts will probably never end...... Oh well!

Yours truly & Piggy 'Macbeth'

xoxo

Hello my lovelies!

I know I've been super behind on the blog lately but I was also super busy preparing some awesome new things for ye! April has been a really exciting month for me so far! From many awesome photoshoots, to meeting amazing new people and getting a superb job offer... I really can't complain about how fantastic my life is at the moment!

These awesome pics are from a shoot I did with Sven from "Sven Wagenfeld Photographie" last weekend. Sven and I 'met' through facebook and started chatting about shooting together some time in march. We had fun conversations about tattoos, life and cool clothing, until an idea about a streetstyle shoot came up! So I grabbed a bag full of clothes, my boyfriend to assist, and off we went to shoot some really awesome stuff!

For all of you fashion lovers out there: I'm rockin' various clothes & accessoiries from Homeward Clothing in these photos which can be purchased at: http://www.homeward-clothing.com/. They sell superb alternative fashion at totally fair prices & I really recommend all of you to check out their page and spend some of your well-earned money ;)
